This fabric is made of 100% polyester.

How do I take care of myself?

- Do not bleach me;
- Wash in the machine on a regular cycle;
- Lay down to dry;
- Iron at low temperature, if necessary;
- If you send me to the cleaner, dry cleaning is authorized with perchio type solvents and petroleum solvents.

What is polyester?

Polyester is a synthetic fiber that became known in the 1940s. It is made from petroleum and is notably the fiber most used in the textile industry. Polyester is made by mixing ethylene glycol and terephthalic acid, so we can conclude that this fiber is a kind of plastic (Contrado, 2017). Fun fact: in the 1870s, it was seen as a miracle fiber that could be worn for 68 days without ironing (Contrado, 2017).

What are the characteristics of polyester?

- Highly resistant to shrinking, stretching, creasing and abrasions;
- Easy to maintain. Can be washed and dried at home;
- Dries quickly after washing.

The future of polyester

Polyester is an unsustainable source. However, since polyester is somehow created from plastic, it is therefore possible to recycle plastic bottles and turn them into fabric later. We are currently seeing more and more of them in Asia. We should therefore see more and more of it in the coming years in America.
